It goes on your skin, not in the water

This is the part worth reading, because it does not work like a bath soak. The oil goes onto your skin first, and then you step into the shower or the bath. It is never poured into the water.

It cleanses and conditions at the same time – a cleansing ingredient sits alongside the nourishing oils. Most washes only clean and most body oils only moisturise, so this one replaces a step rather than adding one. It sinks in as you rinse rather than sitting on top of the skin.

Works just as well in a two-minute shower as in a long bath, which is rather the point.

Shower and bath oil: Warm a little between your palms and smooth over dry or damp skin before you get in. Rinse under the shower, or step into the bath as usual. Take care – oil makes surfaces slippery.

Candle: On the first light, burn for at least 2 hours and no more than 4, letting the whole surface melt evenly. That first burn sets the pattern and prevents tunnelling. Before each use, trim the wick to 5-10mm.

Pillow spray: Two or three mists over your pillow and bedding a few minutes before you get in, so it settles.

Warning: Never leave a burning candle unattended or near anything that can catch fire. Keep away from draughts and out of reach of children and pets. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If you have sensitive skin, patch test the oil first.
